Description:
This Morse key/paddle is a novelty/fun item designed to provide a touch sensitive platform for Morse keying when connected to an  Iambic style Morse keying unit such as those provided by ourselves or other suppliers like MFJ  (e.g. MFJ 492 and similar).
There is no doubt that fast accurate Morse code is best derived with a well-designed mechanical paddle and we are not suggesting that this touch key unit can or should replace a conventional Morse paddle, however, it does allow for fast agile Morse to be sent after a little practice.
The key is based on resistive touch technology rather than hum pickup or capacitive touch techniques. As such the touch action relies on the operator bridging two contacts with a finger (preferred) and the body resistance completes the circuit causing a transistor switch to ‘close’.
This version (Version 2) includes jumpers that allow the paddles to be reversed, this means that depending on the jumper setting, the left paddle can be set to ‘Dit’ or ‘Dah’ and the right paddle to the opposite action. This allows the operator to set the key up fro normal iambic operation (dit on the left paddle) or reverse operation (dah on left paddle).

) powers the key. With uA current draw it will last a very long time before needing replacement.
Tested with dry, very dry and less dry test fingers and a variety of Iambic keyers, including those from:
Electro-Resales, MFJ & AEA.

Provided as a finished unit without stabilizing platform – This dual paddle keyer will need to be mounted on a wood/metal or stone weighted base. Not using a weighted base will lead to unstable use and ‘flaky’ code
